Personal Tech Help
I am also available to help with technology needs for those who are in full time ministry (with preference given to those who are on staff with Collegiate Ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ in the MidAtlantic region).
Before you email me with your questions or help requests I will ask that you do three things that will help lighten my load and will help you learn how to use your technology better yourself.
Mostly, I’m trying to avoid this call from Steph and Ginny, two people who have added themselves to the permanent end of the help line.
- In the program that you are having trouble with hit the F1 button or go to the help menu and search there for help with whatever the issue is. This also works with the Windows operating system itself if you click on the desktop and hit F1.
- If that does not help click the “About…” item in the Help menu of the program and search the program’s website for help – it may be under Help, Forums or Knowledge base. They may even have a place where you can email someone who knows the program specifically and can help you.
- If those two do not work head to Google and try a few searches for what you are trying to do or fix. Pick words that will identify exactly what you’re trying to do as well as the name of the program and look through the first page of results. Honestly, for a lot of your help requests this is exactly what I will do to help you out.
If you do need help from me you will have to request it through my CrossLoop profile. CrossLoop is a program that will enable me to remotely look at your computer system and change what is needed myself. You will need to download the CrossLoop program for me to do this, but you don’t need to download it until I respond to your help request and schedule a time to help you.
